Good News

Last July, we got 9 out of 10 bad news.

Since then it’s been ups & downs of news.

Not needing brain surgery is good news; not getting your tumor resected is bad news.

Not having GBM or DMG, is good news; but having any kind of brain tumor is bad news.

Getting into Mayo clinic within days is good news; needing Mayo clinic within days is bad news.

Radiation and chemotherapy has been proven to double survival for Jason’s cancer – good news; but it’s far from a guarantee or cure – bad news.

And, treatment has been anything but easy – treatment side effects, persistent tumor symptoms, random-who-knows-why issues, plus the onslaught of anxiety.

Dizziness – worse. Double vision – worse. Left leg weakness – worse.

Two episodes of SVT – new.

Nightmares – returned.

There was plenty to make us fear that this month’s MRI would bring more bad news.

But,

that’s not what we got.

Ya’ll, the tumor is shrinking!

Happy tears.

Good news.

It makes the sun feel a little warmer, the sky look a little bluer, & laughter sound a little sweeter.

Sigh.

Good news!

“A cheerful look brings joy to the heart;
good news makes for good health.” Psalm 15:30
